David Cox was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1959 to Randy and Mary Jo Cox. He was raised in a Pastor's family and received the Lord as his personal Saviour at the age of 5. Throughout his upbringing he was actively involved in church activities and outreach which led him to attend Bible College upon high school graduation. It was at Bible College in Nashville, TN, where he answered the call to preach; he also met his wife, Nancy Cordell, and they were married in 1980. After graduating from college, David and Nancy moved to Alabama to work on staff at a church. David served 7 years there as an assistant Pastor, Youth and Bus Director. In 1989, God began to move in his heart to start a church in the Northwest. In March of 1990, David, Nancy and their 3 children moved to the Seattle area and in May they started Seattle Baptist Church. Over two decades have past since that time; they now have 5 children who are all grown and are serving the Lord. Pastor Cox and his wife are thankful for the many years they have been serving the Lord together here at Seattle Baptist, and are looking forward to many more!
